This tape is simple, but works perfectly without glue traces after removing.

3M 3434 is the industry standard masking tape required when masking up a vehicle prior to machine polishing. The reason its industry standard is because it’s pretty good at what it does. It sticks well and does not come away from the vehicle even when the polishing pad goes over the top. It’s blue so it shows up when de-masking; it’s robust and it always comes away from the panel leaving very little residue behind. It appears to be impervious to panel wipe, IPA or CarPro’s Eraser. The only downside is the cost; it’s not cheap but good things very rarely are! If you machine polish for a living then you’ll needs lots of this stuff, but if your only doing your own car, then one or two rolls will be more than enough.
